The Luxembourg Creative Industries Cluster brings together interconnected players from different disciplines in order to increase their visibility and enhance their innovation and business potential.
Located in Esch-sur-Alzette, in the south of Luxembourg, the Kulturfabrik was previously a municipal slaughterhouse, then a self-run squat and is considered today as being a venue to multidisciplinary creations, artist residence, host to socio-cultural and cross-border projects, or a pilot centre for sustainable development.
It’s an environment of stone and metal, the architecture a mirror of its past rooted in the end of the 19th century and the interwar period. The events in the Kulturfabrik are held across 4500 m2, which consist of a big concert and theater hall (850 standing capacity), a small hall, a gallery for exhibits, rehearsal rooms, a cinema (Kinosch), a bar « Ratelach » and a restaurant (K116).
During the year it offers a hundred or so various events that occur within and outside its walls as well as artistic activity while also remaining one of the key players in Luxembourg and the greater surrounding region.
The booking is eclectic and essentially focuses on music (rock / indie / electro & metal), world music, photo exhibitions, theatre, cinema, clown performances and literature.
Kulturfabrik is also very well known for its Urban Art project.
