Mind the Brain is an exhibition created for the 10th anniversary of the Luxembourg Center for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) of the University of Luxembourg, which represents an important milestone for biomedical research in Luxembourg.
The exhibition aims at making science more accessible to the general public and to inform about the research conducted at the LCSB. Neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’s disease are at the focus of the centre’s research.
To this end, Mind the Brain will exhibit 10 giant sculptures in the shape of a brain throughout the city center of Luxembourg. Each of the giant brains will represent one of the research areas of the LCSB and will also be decorated by a renowned Luxembourgish artist.
Mind the Brain is an exhibition in which art meets science, created not only to inform but also to amaze the general public.
Finally, to support both Luxembourgish art and biomedical research, the 10 brains will be on sale. Half of the revenues will go to the artists and the other half will support a research project in the field of neurodegenerative diseases.
The exhibition will run from 15 September to 6 October. Further information on www.mindthebrain.lu
