Extension of the leave for family reasons in connection with the coronavirus epidemic

Coronavirus-related leave for family reasons will be extended until the end of the suspension period for all school and childcare facility activities, currently scheduled for 19 April inclusive - including during the Easter holidays.

All applications already submitted remain valid, please do not submit a new application if you have already sent a form to the National Health Fund.

The dates of leave for family reasons must be communicated to the employer as soon as possible.

As a reminder, leave for family reasons:

• can be taken by the parent of a child if no other childcare options are available.
• cannot be combined with other measures enabling the parents to stay at home. If one of the parents is on short-time work, the second parent is, in principle, not entitled to leave for family reasons, especially if their job position is of critical importance.
